LAHORE: An all-party conference (APC) hosted by Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri called for the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and top police officials over June 17 Model Town tragedy. In a five-point declaration issued on Sunday, participants of the APC said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was actually responsible for the Model Town shootings, which left at least 12 workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) killed last week....

Addressing the All-Parties Conference, PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the rulers broke all records of savagery and terrorism by killing innocent and unarmed workers and the members of the civil society, which resulted in martyrdom of 14 people besides injuring over 125 workers. He said that police intimidated and coerced the Durood reciters in Gosh-a-Durood and did not even hesitate from desecrating the Holy Quran. He said that the Model Town police got the barriers erected around his residence and the central secretariat on the orders of the High Court after the members of neighbourhood moved a petition before the honourable Court for enhanced security measures....

The five points of the declaration included, first Information Report (FIR) of the incident should be registered on the complaint filed by Minhaj-ul-Quran.
