LAHORE: Fourteen people, including two women, were killed during clashes between the activists of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Police on Tuesday, ARY News reports
The area adjacent to Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat in Lahore turned into a battlegroud as supporters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Police engaged in clashes resulting in arrest of several persons and dozens injureds.
Police with armored cars arrived at Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat on Monday night and started removing barriers placed around the building. However, PAT supporters started resisting against police action.
The supporters of the party and Police tried to negotiate but failed and the clashes resumed. They burnt tyres and stopped metrobuses. Traffic system in Lahore was also affected by the protests.
PAT supporters claimed that Police have crossed all limits of tyranny on the saying of the government but they will fight back.
